Turip — Restaurant in Hiroshima

Probably the only non-locals visiting this humble Hello Kitty themed Okonomiyaki restaurant. Was recommended to this place which is a house with first floor converted into a okonomiyaki restaurant by a native Japanese.Though it was my first time eating any okonomiyaki, watching the entire process till eating my first bite has been nothing sort of tantalising from start to finish. The owner was obviously a master at her craft. Was given the option of half boiled and fully cooked egg. What ensued was a huge portion of cabbage, soba, seafood and meat which I was surprised to finish! The heat of the food, yakisoba sauce and well balanced palette of vegetables, carbs and meat made this a most satisfying hearty soul food in the midst of the winter rain.

What stood out was also the pricing of the menu. Passing by the high streets in Hiroshima City I gather that what we had here in Turip must have costed at least 50% more. We've ordered okonomiyaki with soba with meat, egg, squid and prawn.

広島までは遠くてあまり来れないので 美味しそうな場所を数箇所チョイス。 そのひとつが「ちゅうりっぷ」

昼過ぎ訪問。 まだ12時半だというのに麺が無い？ 土曜日だぞ？ そしてオーダーしてからキャベツを刻み仕込みを始める始末。 しかも人数分ではなくまとめて仕込みをしてるせいで オーダーから焼き始めるまでに20分以上もの時間を要する。 他店ならもう提供されてるよ… 常連さんとお喋りに花を咲かせるのは別に構わないが ある程度の簡素な仕込みくらいしていて欲しい。 前客がいたわけでもないし、土曜日だぞ？

焼き初めから15分で到着。 噂通りトロトロの卵が美味しそう。 そしてひと口食べるとあまりの美味さに驚いた。

野菜の加熱具合が丁度よく、大きめなので食べごたえがありつつ 塩加減も調度良いので他店のように味付け無しの蒸し野菜を食わされてる感じがなく 追いソースの必要を感じない。 マヨで補強する必要も感じない。 久しぶりに美味しい広島のお好み焼きを食べた。

そして卓上のガーリックパウダーと胡椒がとても相性が良い。 なるほどなるほど… これはこの金額を出す以上の価値がありますね。

味に厳しいこと言いまくる面倒な人間ですが 今回は満点の味！素晴らしい。

待ち時間35分、後客の待ち時間15分 という不満を...

■2024年12月20日　11:30頃入店 1番目で入店、肉玉そばを注文 20分後に到着、変わらぬ美味しさでした。 開店10分後にはほぼ満席になっていたので時間が限られている場合は早めに行った方が良いかもです。予約は受けていないとの事です。
