We stopped here while riding the shimanami kaido and we're incredibly lucky to find it! It seems like a local spot, pretty small on the inside and with a very lively atmosphere. All of the food was incredibly good, fresh, and well-prepared - the gnocchi in particular was delicious, but everything we ordered was wonderful, you can't go wrong. Portion sizes are smallish and good for sharing, so order lots - we got six dishes for three people and we were pleasantly full, and the price was very reasonable given the variety and quality that we got.

We love VEGI :) My husband and I are both foreigners living on this island. This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, I would describe as a Japanese and Italian modern 'izakaya'. It's a fun place to order many items to share with a group. They have a set menu, plus a large chalkboard with hand-written seasonal specials. There is always something new to try! The staff and owner are very friendly....

We ordered a pizza, but it was the size of a mini pizza. We ordered lasagna with vegetables, it didn't contain any lasagna, but it was quite good. We also ordered anchovy pasta, but there was only one anchovy, which had been sliced into three small pieces, and there was too much chilli.
