Beautifully designed seaside cafe with indoor and outdoor seating available. Simple, light meals - unfortunately nothing on the menu yet for vegans or vegetarian diners but the staff say they will offer something from April.
I also asked if they could do a soy-latte instead of dairy and they made a beautiful version for me (off-menu).
They were also flexible about getting the bagel sandwich made with just salad instead of meat or fish as it is in the menu.
Free parking along main road. Handicap friendly parking and facility. All cafe is non-smoking, separate smoking area along back.
So many small innovative design features from the rail to roll your bicycle up + hang it next to your table to places to charge your phone (plug or usb). Baskets to put your bag or jacket into next to your table and blankets to warm laps while windows kept open as coronavirus prevention.
Seating outside for about 24 and about 20 inside - view of bridge and water inside and out.
Can see from cafe the very stylish hotel lodging in igloo shaped glamping tents or wooden square private rooms. Love every detail of simple, minimalist, functional design here.
The staff were very quick to reply in English about a menu question via Facebook...
Read moreA fantastic place for everyone, but especially for those who love two things: cycling and good coffee! They have three types of hand-brewed coffee there: Ethiopian, Brazilian and I forgot the other one. This place is a haven for cyclists, they even have showers and if you want you can take your bike directly to the cafe, which is mostly on a terrace with view of the sea. It couldn’t be more scenic! They also serve healthy food, perfect for cyclists again! This was the best cafe I have come across on the whole Shimanami...
Read moreReally nice spot to cycle to, just a small detour off the main shimanami kaido route. It's a little confusing to find, you initially arrive at a carpark and need to walk to the back of the site while wondering if you are going the right way. But it's great overall, very accommodating for cyclists and the food is quite good. Will be back whenever I am...
