One of my favorite places in Ise. The karaage bowl (petite size) and Ise Udon combination is excellent, even separately. As I told my friend, the Ise Udon broth here to me, IMO, is the best out of the 5+ places I have had it. Usually you can pair a noodle with a broth / sauce, but this one seems to be tried and tested by a meticulous palette. I swear by it. It is not random. I’ve tried many karaage-dons, but the one at this restaurant has a unique flavor. The karaage is spicy on its own, and when combined with the sweet and savory sauce, it becomes incredibly delicious. I’m not sure if it’s pepper or sansho, but it has a substantial and spicy taste that is very satisfying.
