A lot has been said that this place is run by solely by a grandma which leads to questions about the, service, food quality, and hygiene. For what it’s worth, we asked for a Japanese breakfast set which wasn’t on the menu but she kindly cooked it for us anyway. It was a decent meal and we felt fine afterwards. But it does make you think if patronising Wakakusado is good or not: on the one hand the diner is the grandma’s life and world, especially since she’s opened from 06:30-19:00 and seemingly every day. She is often back in the kitchen so you'll have to speak loudly to get her attention. Her service can be slow, but I think it's worth it for the food and retro homey atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was so good I came back a second time!
There's also has a souvenir shop in the front filled with vintage Ise goods. The goods are a bit dusty, but well worth the dig for a bargain! My only caution would be to avoid the bathroom. It's...
