Sanco Inn in Ise is a great place to stay if you’re visiting the Ise Grand Shrines. The hotel is conveniently located near the train stations and just a short walk from the bus stops that take you directly to both Geku (the Outer Shrine) and Naiku (the Inner Shrine). It makes getting around incredibly easy, especially if you’re relying on public transportation.
The hotel itself is clean, modern, and comfortable. The rooms are compact, as is typical in Japan, but thoughtfully designed with everything you need. What stood out most was the warm hospitality of the staff. They were very kind and welcoming throughout our stay. While they didn’t speak English, they did their best to help and made check-in and communication smooth with the help of simple gestures and translation tools. In a smaller city like Ise, it’s completely understandable not to expect fluent English, and it certainly didn’t detract from the experience.

Read moreSanco inn has a nice location as there is railway station, convenient shop and restaurants nearby. You can walk 5 minutes to all the above facilities. ||I think this is a new hotel as its lights are bright and the interior design is fashionable. I appreciate it has a spa for guest but I was to tired to experience. Also, there is a small “bar” near lobby for the guest taking the consumptions like lotion, toothbrush, combs, base on the guest own needs. One of the reason is it is near the spa. And also, I think it can reduce waste as not everyone need the consumptions. ||The staff are nice. I can communicate with them in English easily. The tourist information is clear too. The room is clean and comfortable. The multi-hub for different electronic devices surprises me! This is a very caring...
Read moreMy daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights with breakfast buffet. Across from JR Ise station, lobby on 2nd floor, you can select from a 'pillow bar', with 5 firmness options, also small amenities bar with toothbrushes, lotions, etc. next to elevator. Key tap required in elevator to take you up to your floor (nice added security). Decent size room (we had 2 twin beds), fridge, tea kettle, flat screen tv. Nice bathroom amenities. Public bath on 2nd floor which daughter used and enjoyed. Breakfast buffet was very good, with a wide variety of both western and Japanese items to choose from. Easy 10 minute walk to Ise Geku (outer) shrine, and tourist buses stop at the station. Be sure to get bus passes at tourist office inside train station, they're a great bargain...
