Not going back.

The sashimi was good but expensive. Served in "boat". Staff speak English

Smell of cigarette butts, low quality of other food and high price for this quality. Seaweed on sashimi plate with traces of mould. And deceving on top: I asked for sashimi and drinks, but was served with starters of “omakase” in addition... when I asked what this was, the waiter said "you asked for it" and was insisting on it (extra 1800 JPY) The waiter tried to serve more plates that I didn't ask for, but I stopped him. When I made the order, waiter said sashimi will be for 1500 JPY/plate. But the bill was for 2000/plate (there is no price in the menu, just "market value"). So I paid because I didn't want to argue any more.

Very disappointing Will never come back.

Note: I'm not a newcomer to Okinawa and Japan. But never met such...

From outside it does not look very inviting. I was not even sure if this is a restaurant. But I was surprised very positively. I had Goya Champuru and Mozuku Tempura and both were very delicious. When I was there I was alone, but sometimes its crowded, the cook told me. He was very kind and hospitable I definitly go there again, when I will be in Kabira next winter! ( Of course you cannot compare "restaurants" in Kabira with places in Tokyo or other big Cities in Japan. In Kabira you can be glad, if you find a place to eate (especially in the evening). Most people visit Kabira for the sea and its beautiful landscape. There are no supermarkets (except 1 little, which is open only on weekends - at least in winter- and no...

(was ich persönlich sehr...

This is place has a bit of an unusual way of serving. There is no menu to order from, instead the chef will bring you Okinawan dishes he feels like making, and they will keep coming until you say “stop”. Each dish is 800 yen. The dishes are really good and because he makes them one at a time, quite fresh. You can tell him if you have food allergies or don’t eats. We got fried chicken, squid-ink pasta, tempura, omelette, some tofu dish, grilled fish and some drinks. It was all really nice. The chef and waitress are very friendly and there is an English explanation as well. The decor is quite home-y and there are quite a few gecos around.

A cozy, home-style izakaya located in the Kabira area. The dishes are served in a local-style “omakase” format, one at a time — each dish costs ¥900, and you can say “stop” whenever you’re full. This time, I enjoyed squid ink pasta, grilled island pork with sea lettuce sauce, stir-fried vegetables with sponge gourd, and tempura of island fish (gurukun), purple yam, and mozuku seaweed. Every dish was carefully cooked, bringing out the natural flavors, and went perfectly with drinks. I was already very full after four dishes! The first Orion Beer was exceptionally good, and the steady timing of each course made the meal even more enjoyable. Note: it’s cash only, so be sure to bring some yen. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy local food and drinks in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere in Kabira.

One of the few restaurant options in Kabira. Its a local restaurant which serves local dishes. The concept is you pay 800 yen per plate and you say stop when you are getting full. Its a chef menu, its a surprise what you will get. I highly recommend this place, because the food tasted amazing! Thank you so much for letting us taste your local cuisine❤️
