Funakura no Sato — Restaurant in Ishigaki

10 out 10!!! We found this place while exploring near our hotel and it was the BEST find!! The restaurant is amazing!!! We got a set course to try a little of everything & it was oishi!!! The beef, fish the sides were amazing! I love how they cooked the beef at the table. Always recommend getting okinawan shallots!! It was so much food you will not go away hungry! We are island hopping or I would probably come back and try different foods! The staff were friendly and so helpful in explaining items. Got to try a few new items I haven't had on Okinawa island itself. There is a Duo who play traditional Okinawan music and just went great with the dinner.

Plenty of parking in lots 1 and 2. Follow the signs or you may end up in someone house. Takes credit card and yen. Staff spoke some English. Has an English menu. Take your shoes off...

Came in the evening when this place changes to izakaya. There was a person singing Okinawa minyou (song) with shamisen which was fantastic.

The waiter was super nice and food was really delicious. I am a vegetarian and I got Goya-champuru, peanut-tofu, umi-budou (sea grapes), mozuku tempura and a variety of fresh cold pressed juices (Goya juice, guava juice and wild banana juice).
