Umibozu — Restaurant in Ishigaki

Great coffee shop/cafe near the port. Breakfast set was just ¥580 when I went in August, 2023. Cool decorations and pretty spacious place. 中世の木組みの帆船の船室を彷彿させるような内装のカフェです。若干暗めの照明の設定にしているからか、落ち着いた雰囲気を醸し出しており、（利用した時間帯が要因かもしれませんが）お喋りする客も多くなく、ゆったりと過ごすことが出来ます。 給仕される料理やドリンクは、他にもたくさんある純喫茶で見られるものと同じものがほとんどです（『あがらさー（黒糖蒸しパン）』等、このカフェもしくはこの地域ならではの料理もいくつかあります）。味付けもオーソドックスで、奇を衒ったところはありません。常連さんが来店することもあり、その常連さんとスタッフが仲良くお喋りすることもありますが、あくまで手が空いた時であり、他の客を蔑ろにするところは見られませんでした。 出入口は手動式の扉であるため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方は、やや利用しづらいと感じるかもしれません。

The interior of this cafe is reminiscent of the cabin of a medieval wooden sailing ship. The slightly darker lighting settings make a relaxed atmosphere, and (perhaps due to the time of day we used the cafe) there are not many customers chatting, making for a relaxing experience. The dishes and drinks served are mostly the same as those found in many other pure cafes (there are a few dishes that are unique to this cafe or the area, such as "Agarasa (brown sugar steamed bread)"). The seasoning is orthodox, and there is nothing eccentric about it. Regulars sometimes come in, and the staff sometimes chats with them, but only when they are free, and there is no disrespect for the other customers. The entrance and exit is a manual door, which may be somewhat difficult for wheelchair users and other physically challenged...

We had the omuraisu and pizza toast. Both were soo tasty! The service was nice, and an English menu was available. There's parking nearby for 100 yen/hour, but you can also park in front of the restaurant, at least that's what other people...
