A&W Ishigaki — Restaurant in Ishigaki

Ate there with my wife yesterday night. The food wasn't great but for the price I gave it a pass. However, serving spoiled food is a completely different story that I simply cannot forgive.

My wife didn't like her Teriyaki Burger much, but she hates wasting food so she finished it. She's paying a high price for this now: she spent most of the night in the toilet and this whole day in bed not being able to eat anything! Hopefully she'll start feeling better tomorrow...

Mistakes happen sure, but this coming from a big fast food franchise is not only very disappointing, it is truly concerning. Hopefully the people in charge there see this and seize the opportunity to handle...

We came to eat at A&W Ishigaki in July 2025. It is convenient that it is open late, but probably for that reason it is quite popular. Unfortunately they are understaffed so they did warn at the cash register that food can take up to 20 minutes to be ready. They have free refills for all the drinks.

We ordered the “Family Set” which is a good deal at 2200円 including a teriyaki burger, cheeseburger, ham-and-cheese sandwich, 3 drinks, and 3 small superfries. We were very excited to have A&W again after such an amazing experience in the mainland in Okinawa. We arrived around 6-7pm, it was packed and it was very small so there were hardly any seats left. We ordered and waited for over 30mins! There was a sign in Japanese next to the cashier but only realised what it meant after we ordered. While waiting, i swatted a few flies and got bitten by mosquitoes which was really annoying. So make sure to spray some insect repellent!
