Located in the Izu Shaboten zoo, this animal themed restaurant offers a novelty experience where you can dine with large plush capybaras and red pandas at your table. The atmosphere could have been improved if they did not play the same short Animal Crossing intro music on repeat the entire time. At least vary the playlist with some different Animal Crossing tracks, please. The service was very friendly.
The food is a little overpriced for the quality, as is expected at a zoo, but it is not terrible food for a zoo cafe! There are very limited vegetarian options.
The capy-burger was juicy, but the texture reminded us of an instant meat patty. The bun was shiny and very cute though.
The omu-hayashi was good, with a thin omelette enveloping yummy ketchup rice mixed with chicken and peas. It could have been improved with a higher egg to rice ratio. The gravy on the side made it customizable and wasn’t too sweet.
The chicken and french fries were hot and tasty but a bit oily. The pancakes were not great, and they were flat and artificial-tasting with artificial cream topping and sauce.
