TL;DR-Great service, amazing food, great customer service, Yen only, but you definitely get your money's worth!
Gem in the middle of downtown Iwakuni. 100 yen parking straight across. Got there shortly after 6, and thankfully no one was there so we got good seating (about 6 counter seats and 2 tables on tatami mats that can sit 4 people). It was our first time, but the person (who I assume is the owner since he was a one-many army) was awesome! Provided us an english menu and gave us the popular recommendations. We got our food within 10 minutes, I was speechless! It was also amazing! Like really freakin good! I've travelled a lot in Japan and as far as tonkotsu ramen, this is the 2nd time I've been amazed that a local business in Iwakuni is serving something this amazing and in my 2 years of being here, never heard of it until recently. Please go here, the atmosphere may be different than what you see in other shops, but the customer service won't disappoint, the food definitely won't disappoint, and your wallet will be glad, the bill for my family only came out to 1800 Yen!...
Read moreThis restaurant just opened up recently. It provides a great selection of steamed foods. Steamed pork, chicken, and even steamed gyoza to name a few. The prices are, in my opinion, cheap. For 750 yen I ordered the chicken set meal which included steamed chicken topped with a sauce of my choice (request to taste test different sauces!!) on top of an assortment of steamed vegetables. A side of rice and a small soup was provided as well. So much food for 750 yen! This is definitely a top restaurant in Iwakuni. Healthy, cheap, and filling never usually go together, but when you step into this restaurant that's just what you'll get!
The service is just what you would want. The cook takes pride in his work and will try his best to make you happy.

Read moreThe owner is pretty cool and speaks English very well. The menu also has English. The Tantanmen Noodle was very good with lots of flavor and spice. Top that off with sone steamed pork Gyoza and you have a very filling meal. It’s very quaint and off the beaten path, but yet close to some of the main hotels just a block or two away. The prices are amazingly low and there’s even cheap parking...
