This place is an awesome place to visit if you fancy Japanese breakfast, usually consisting of rice, soup and a form of protein. Just a warning, the staff are not English speaking, I knew a bit of Japanese so it was fine.
It's a really small place, only seating up to max of 20 people at a time, so not a good place if you have large groups of people. But if you're travelling in a small group (like 4), it is perfect to escape areas with the large tourist groups.
On to the food, we ordered the set with Tamagokake (you have raw egg on rice with soy sauce), salmon rice set and soup rice set.
The raw egg might put you off, but it is a must try.
Only downside, if you can call it that, is that it is a lot of self service. They give you a tag and call it out, then you have to grab the food yourself in a tray. Then you have to return the tray to a counter for them to clean.
For me, I'd definitely come back here if I ever do visit Kamakura...

Waited in line for about 30 minutes since 10am, finally got in and then they took my order at the front and you find a seat and sit down until your number is called. The food took a long time to prepare, after finishing the food and drinking half of the tea, I noticed something floating in my tea. At first I thought maybe it was a barley seed but then as I used my chopsticks to bring it closer to my horror I realized it was a maggot/worm larvae. It has probably been soaking in my tea for a while and I have already drank it. I immediately felt nauseous and told the front whether it was a bug, they squashed it and said unfortunately yes and asked if I wanted another tea - I just wanted to leave at that point. They did not offer for any refund or otherwise for this experience. I am concerned about the hygiene and do not recommend, especially given the wait in line and...
ย ย ย Read moreYes, the restaurant has a cute exterior and serves wahoo style breakfast. That's it. There are many better choices for value in Kamakura.
A lot of younger people and instagrammers come here because it is a cute little restaurant. I mean, it's very little and the food is very basic.
As I wanted to order, I had to wait for a couple to finish taking pics in front of me. Once, I got to the order counter, I saw the products they were selling dropped on the ground.
The interior felt dark and cold. Number called up to pick up my food and as a person that loves "tamago kake gohan," I just wanted to eat it quickly and get out.
One tiny entrance/exit, once again had to deal with kids blocking the exit on...
