Worst service ever! I was getting my utensils from a little basket next to my table, and the old man came over and threw the basket back to where it came from. I wasnโt even done getting my utensils out! Everything says donโt touch in his restaurant, and he is very particular towards foreigners. I thought maybe this is just his personality, maybe he had a bad day, but then an older couple came in and were being treated like royalty.
I told the old man that I do not want to continue eating in his restaurant because of the way he treated me and my friend. He said I didnโt do anything to you. I explained he threw items that I was using and was very rude. He demanded I pay for what he had started cooking.
I have no problem paying for things that I ordered, and I havenโt ate yet. I said if you tell me to pay for it then I need it packed for take out. He once again threw take out boxes at me. I had enough by this time and started yelling. I told him if you treat people with disrespect, how can you expect them to want to stay. I donโt pay to be treated like garbage while others (Japanese) are treated nicely.
I had to pack my own food that I didnโt want but paid for, and had to be laughed at by the older couple as well. I let them and the old man know that if you want money from tourism, you shouldnโt treat tourists like garbage and laugh at them. I explained that I am half Japanese and am utterly shocked by this kind of behavior, especially when the economy is not that great and we could all use the extra money coming in.
If I was loud and obnoxious, I would understand the angry attitude. But me and my friend were very quiet and were looking to have some Spanish food. I spoke in Spanish to the old man as well hoping maybe he studied in Spain or worked in a Spanish restaurant before, and he didnโt understand any of it.
Fake restaurant, no experience, tourist trap for Japanese people. Beware, he has had no training in Spain, and canโt even say his own dishes in Spanish. Worst mistake...
ย ย ย Read moreThe chef was a old gentleman. He was the only staff there so you may need to get your self prepared to spend some time there. But you will find it worth for waiting.
The food was extraordinary. The food was well served and plated. All dishes were fresh and hot served.
He might be a bit shy to foreigners so you might feel that he is not as friendly as those Japanese staff who can speak english well. But from the food you can feel he devoted his whole passion in Spanish food. He was in fact nice and gentle when he explained his food to the Japanese customers. I wish my Japanese was better so I can express how good his food was and thank him.
I would recommend to all those visitors who come to this because place and spend a few hours sit back, enjoy the food, music and...
ย ย ย Read moreWe stumbled upon this small and intimate place on our search for a pub or bar, for a few drinks after dinner. We loved the atmosphere with Spanish music, and the decorations. I was quite amazed at the wide array of drinks available! The owner at first appeared a bit distant and uncommunicative. But once we got to talk to him and asked him about the reason for running a Spanish restaurant, he turned out to be very friendly and talkative and told us about his passion for Spain and Spanish food. If we had known about this place beforehand, we may have chosen to have dinner there, as we got the feeling that the food would be very authentic. Certainly something to keep in mind for next time we are...
