Ha-Na-Re — Restaurant in Karuizawa

Very nice dinner place with good vibes that just opened up at Karuizawa. Exceptional fish dish, especially, cooked to perfection using a layer of cheese to bring out "umami" of the fish while balancing all flavours. It really demonstrated how thoughtful and unique the chef's approach to his dishes were.

The chef was also very mindful in kindly adjusting the portions of the dishes after proactively asking how full we got towards the end (which we were indeed quite full)

Chef Yuichi Chikatani created an unforgettable experience for me and my husband. We made reservations as we would be staying in Karuizawa for a few days and it was a beautifully curated experience from the cozy, warm atmosphere to the care taken by Chef Yuichi Chikatani and his sous. Wonderful Italian restaurant. Very glad we came for a course lunch after skiing for two days. The food is memorable. They have a superb wine selection, and excellent service.
