Sacree Fleur Karuizawa — Restaurant in Karuizawa

In windy freezing outside in winter, here was nice oasis to relax. I was winter chilling outside with my little daughter and found this restaurant welcomed us.

At first step I walked inside, a young lady staff recommend us got lunch in tent. My little daughter loved this very much. She said this is the best restaurant in Japan. :) With tent table was private and had fun. We could sit or lay down to get lunch.

Steak was served in awesome hot stone. You can cook beef or any side dishes with this hot stone. Garlic rice with steak was a good choice for lunch. Kid menu was nice and pretty. I didn't expect for excellent wagyu or the best steak in Japan. No expectation, no disappointment

Faced with the choice of either Starbucks or Lindt for afternoon tea, we chose steak :) While I wouldn't pay the prices for some of the more premium cuts to be served on a hot stone (to risk overcooking while I eat), I was more than happy to get the standard grade beef alongside some desserts. This restaurant reminds me of Sizzler but grown up, much more high end and with prices to match. If not for the steaks, everything was made most memorable as they served up the best chocolate mud cake in all of Karuizawa...

we had late lunch and missed the limited lunch sets (heard that the garlic rice is good). We ordered the 150g beef which is soft and delicious. Fries are also good. Can have an option of cheese fondue - we would like to try but believe it is too heavy for lunch. Salad is fresh and in adequate portion. it'd be even better if there are choices of dressing such as sesame. Average spend of 3000 yen per person, a fair price for quality beef.
