ESKY COFFEE By Izzy's Cafe — Restaurant in Kawasaki

A hidden café near the train station offers excellent service and great coffee. However, one aspect that could be improved is the requirement for customers to download their in-house app for Wi-Fi access. It seems odd to ask customers to use their own mobile phones for Wi-Fi when they come to the café to save data. Especially when all I want is to enjoy a cup of coffee with Wi-Fi access, I don't necessarily need the app. Additionally, the app itself is not stable and tends to crash easily. The café has many electric plugs, which is convenient. Latte cost ¥550...

I struggled a little to find this place, as Google maps directs you to a car park, but with a little more walking it can be found behind it.

I ordered the cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel and an iced black coffee. Both were really good. The bagel was lightly toasted and the addition of pickled onion was very tasty. The coffee was a mild blend and not at all bitter.

ESKY COFFEE のメニュー

メニューにはコーヒーとか、アメリカンというメニューがありません。 ショートブラックに、ロングブラック？なんですかそれは！？ と思っちゃいますよね。

僕はサードウェーブ系で有名だった神楽坂のMOJOが好きでよく通っていたので そこで馴染みのある言葉でした。 メニューにはこんなエピソードが書いてあります。

オセアニア地方で「コーヒー」というと、「だから何のコーヒーだい？」と突き放されます。

ショートブラックはエスプレッソ ロングブラックがコーヒーにあたります。

なので、かっこよく「Long Black」と伝えましょう！

今回はMOJOが懐かしかったので「Flat White」を注文しました。
エスプレッソ×ミルクで、ミルクフォームがきめ細かいふわふわのラテです。

コーヒー豆も2種類用意してくれていて、好きな方を選んでくださいとパッケージを見せてくれました。
コクの強い方でお願いしますと赤いパッケージのコーヒーをいれてくれました。

スプーンをいれると、雲をすくうような感覚で舌触りも最高なフォームミルクでした。そして口をつけて飲んでみると エスプレッソのエッジの効いた香ばしい苦味が心地よく口当たります。そしてゆっくりとミルクと混ぜ合わさったラテは至福のおいしさでした。
