Kurumaya — Restaurant in Kawasaki

Excellent family-run cozy Izakaya. You will have a great experience in Kurumaya. The owner, a mid-age woman, is so welcoming and funny that will make your stay in the Izakaya very pleasing. You can easily chat to her, as well as the waiter and chef, who is the son of the owner.

The food is delicious and even when the menu doesn't have so many dishes, everything there will please you. The portions are reasonably generous and the drinks more than enough.

Also, make sure that you ask them about the sake that is not in the menu. But everything must be done in Japanese since nobody speaks a single word of English.

They opened in 2014, so you might expect everything to look clean and new.

If you want to eat here, most likely you won't need a reservation, but since there are available different types of seats, such as counter, table, or Japanese style tatami, maybe you could reserve the place you want. But I encourage you to stay at the counter and interact with the owner. You will have lots of fun with her and the staff.

They also have an app for both Android and iOS with which you can accumulate points. Probably they will offer you a pamphlet with instructions, but if not, ask for it.

Lovely Japanese izakaya in the neighborhood. If you are coming here for dinner, best to make a reservation because I've been turned down multiple times. While they have some standard dishes, they also serve some unique "limited" dishes that brings the best out of the ingredients (although some have been less of a hit). Always interested in seeing what specials they are serving this month!

外観も素敵でお洒落な雰囲気が漂っていて気になっていて初訪問。 お店の中は外の雰囲気とはまた違い、明るくアットホームな優しい雰囲気でした。

お料理は当日のオススメメニューと定番メニューがあり、この日は焼き茄子と豆腐の餡掛け、山芋の竜田揚げ、アボカドとスモークチキンのピザ、鰹カツ梅ソース仕立て、鶏そば（メニューの正式名称ではないかもしれないです、記憶を頼りに記載しています）を注文しました。

お料理本当にすべて美味しかったです！ とくに鰹カツと山芋の竜田揚げが他ではあまり見かけないメニューでまた食べたくなる美味しさでした🥰 あまりにお料理が美味しいので、もっと色々なメニューに挑戦したくなってしまいました。 また、外の雰囲気からもう少し高いお値段を想像していましたが、安くてびっくりしました。
