best bar in all of Japan I will fight you over this.

bust seriously, a great night out for anyone visiting kokura, a great night out for die hard Gundam fans, an amazing night out if you fall into both categories.

the bar has a normal level 'all you can drink' which includes an array of drinks for the 'uninitiated' : beer, whiskey soda, sours (not to be confused with sourz), and chuhai (IIRC). above this, the bar has a selection of very well conceived, and expertly mixed cocktails, each based on a theme from the Gundam metaverse.

the υGundam is not just for show!

there are snacks and light meal items available from the bar's kitchen too, and your table fee nets you a basket of snacks to enjoy. The bar is also equipped with a karaoke machine, but your mileage may vary depending on who else has come that night. sadly, the darts machine has gone (almost certainly to make space for the huge Char Zaku II).

but best of all about the Gundam Bar Side 6, is the owner, mr Nakahara, who is the best bar master in the town centre (again, throw your gauntlets). he's pretty fluent in English, if Japanese isn't your strong point, and he's especially good at bringing out the best of an evening in the bar. believe me, you think you're going in for 1 or 2 sips and before you know it it's 4am.

I absolutely love this place. This is a great and cozy karaoke bar with a Gundam themed twist. The prices are fair and the place is stunningly decorated with many Gundam related merchandises. The karaoke has a massive selections of songs. Even if you’re not a Gundam fan or an anime fan in general, there are still lots of english songs for you to pick from. The Owner/Bartender of the bar is beyond friendly, and he will sing along with or for the customer if requested. This place is a goldmine for those who tranches deep into the Japanese anime culture. From the old and new Gundam animes or whatever else’s, to the live action classic Kamen Rider franchise, there are no shortage of conversations for you to ever feel left out. I personally cannot wait for my next visit here.

Tl;dr Come here if you like anime and want to get drunk and meet new friends. But come here anyway if you’re not into anime and just want to meet friendly locals and get wasted...

Unforgettable experience for Gundam fans. Unfortunately my limited Japanese wasn't enough to have the conversation I'd have liked to. But karaoke with the regulars was a lot of fun. I will study more and hopefully...
