御料理 雲雀(ヒバリ) — Restaurant in Kokonoe

Super good food, super nice cook and suitable for vegetarians too!

Got a reservation at this restaurant nearby while staying at Spa Greeness (高原の隠れ家 スパ・グリネス) in October 2019. I´ve noticed them in advance that 1 vegetarian (no meat, no fish) and 1 omnivore will attend. We were surprised by the taste and perfection of the food, the composition and the kindness of the service. As an omnivore + vegetarian couple travelling in Japan was not that easy to find a place that catered both needs in a tasty way - we finally found this place that made us both very happy!

The chef always brought his translator to explain the components especially of the vegetarian meal ("Looks like meat but it´s actually soy!") - so thoughtful and kind.

Highly recommended and best wishes to our lovely host who made the evening at Wasyoku Hibari such a great experience....

This was a beautiful experience. The staff were incredibly kind and polite, and they were able to accommodate our (complicated) dietary restrictions, including vegetarian. The food was delicious, creative and thoughtfully prepared. We really appreciated the care that went into every single dish, and the variety of the dishes we were...

The owner and chef is very talented and kind. They prepared a special tofu meal set for our special dietary requirements with one day's notice. They also prepared a cake with candles and even gave us a gift for our birthday celebration. This restaurant made our stay at kurakawa onsen even more special....
