This has got to be one of the most over-hyped restaurants in Kyoto. We arrived at 12 noon for lunch and of the six different main dishes, three were already sold out. Lunch service just started and they are already half sold out of food? Strangely, they also ran out of ginger which meant that half of the tea menu was also not available. With so few choices we had two BiBimBap style dishes and a Pumpkin Curry. The food was extraordinarily bland, with virtually no flavours or substance. The rice for the BiBimBap was barely warm and once mixed in with the other cold ingredients it was a mixture of cold rice, vegetables and egg. Yikes. This is certainly not very authentic Korean. The food might be best described as an awkward fusion of Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Western origins but it was so convoluted that it ended up having no identity at all.
