This little gem was absolutely fantastic. We couldn’t get reservations anywhere so we walked around near our Airbnb and stumbled upon on this restaurant. To be honest I wasn’t expecting much from the humble looking place, but we were sat down by the gentleman and sole employee. He set the table for 5 and after some translation app work on our part we picked our meals. He went back to the kitchen area and proceeded to blow our minds with some of the best and freshest Italian food you’ll have outside of Italy. Stunning meal and for a 3 course meal with drinks for 5 people, it came in right under $140. Please if you’re in Kyoto, skip the main strip and go here. You won’t be disappointed

The owner was very patient with my foreign friends and I. We did not eat because we didn’t know it was fine dining and we were not prepared to order with our limited Japanese. We will be back with a Japanese speaker. Sorry for...
