Iyouwaie (natural yeast bread) — Restaurant in Mimasaka

Don’t make the same mistake I did 😭 came here around 2pm and everything was sold out except for some canele, sourdough, and shokupan. Had a nice long chat with the owners and they told me lines form even before they open snd sell out within hours. It was so unfortunate that was my last day in Mimasaka and means I will have to return one day.

As for what we got, we basically cleared all their remaining products. Between the five of us, we had one canele each and it was the best canele I’ve ever had. The perfect crisp crust with a gooey custardy interior and the perfect amount of rum. Size was also very sufficient. The sourdough with figs and walnut is likewise amazing, great bounce and texture; the crunch from the walnuts and the fruity chew from the fig is delectable. We also got the last shokupan because why not. They were nice enough to help slice and toast them up and even served with butter too whilst leaving us two slices to sample raw.
