Seafood Restaurant Kaihomaru is the best place to eat in the area. we tried several other places and kept coming back here in a hurry. The staff were very helpful, swift and efficient despite the language barrier. The one African-Okinawan staff member was especially helpful with advice about the area.

The food was plentiful, good and my wife tried many of the sashimi dishes. I preferred the 'Okinawa Meal'. We spent more than we might otherwise, because the food was so good. The restaurant wants to keep control over the temperature of it's sushi and sashimi dishes, so it does not allow take out or delivery.

The restaurant was always very busy, but never seemed crowded.

One criticism is that it is not open for breakfast. There is a lack of any decent place for breakfast in the area, so they could take the whole market if they expanded their hours. (Until then, go to FamilyMart Motobu Yamagawa and buy breakfast to take back to your hotel room. They are a little bit down the road to the north of Kaihomaru.)
