山の家カフェ Yamanoie cafe — Restaurant in Myoko

Amazing restaurant and cafe, we had to go twice. Wonderful staff and a super cozy environment. The menu was full of options with reasonable prices. Vegan and vegetarian options available on the menu too. They have a wide variety of snacks and cakes to have with your meal or takeaway too. Probably some of the best food in town and the only one with western options. Didn't require a booking to sit in, but made one anyways. Last order is 6:30pm.

We've eaten here with the family (ages 30-80+) multiple times. The food is always excellent, with a rotating menu of different pastas and rice dishes. Food is served in a timely fashion, the owners are friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. We always think of it as the DIY Cafe, as the owner has obviously built many of the tables and additions to the restaurant. The views of the Japanese Alps are also quite spectacular. Very cute cafe with nice views and good food! It was also open between lunch and dinner, which can be hard to find in Japan if you're eating at an unusual time.
