We decided to do a Nakasendo hike from Magome to Tsumago, it took us pretty much 6 hours to complete and by the time we reach Tsumago this restaurants was a godsend.
Their range of offerings is quite wide, and also have many seasonal items.
This soba place seem to be very popular with locals too as we see large groups of locals dining there.
What is interesting though is, they have foreigners dine in the private rooms for some reason, but not complaining when you want to continue to have some peace and quiet after the lovely hike.
Onto the food, soba give good bite and the set comes with a lot of local dishes that come with local produce ad generous portions of serving size.

Read moreI had a very good lunch here yesterday after the nice hike from Magome. The restaurant was already closed but they were so kind to make some lunch for me. The restaurant is beautiful and a perfect rest after the hike.
Honami was my waitress and kindly helped me. She speaks some english and is very eager to learn more. I had a very nice conversation with here. And I also met here mother, who owns the restaurant.

Read moreVisited twice recently as part of my Nakasendo trail walk holiday. Loved the soba and grilled fish. On the rainy day we visited, we had the otokuchi and Iwana set. We enjoyed the meal so much, we tweaked our walk plans to visit the restaurant once more. It meant a longer distance but was well worth it!
