A&W Nago — Restaurant in Nago

This nice, spacious A&W has a drive-in, which brought back childhood memories from visits to the A&W drive-in back in my small hometown (which closed long ago and is now only a happy memory). Sadly, we chose not to try the Drive-In, as we were worried that we might make our rental car dirty 😒🤣. There is also a Baskin Robbins at one side of the dining area where you can buy ice cream. As I discovered when looking at the merchandise for sale in the store when we visited, the Nago branch opened in 1963. There were a couple of different displays selling various merchandise, including stuffed A&W bears, keychains, pens, T-shirts, caps, and a special book commemorating the Nago branch's 50th anniversary in 2023. We bought the three person Family Set, which was affordable and yummy! I had the Teriyaki Burger from that set, and I thought it was great. My kid was very happy with the Ham and Cheese Sandwich, and my wife said the Cheeseburger was...

I usually don't write bad reviews because I don't want to promote negativity but this was the worst fast food I've had in my life. I ordered a special burger because my wife has gluten allergies, the A&W burger and chili curly fries. 2 minutes after I finished ordering they gave me a cold custom burger. Since it's a special request I wonder how they finished it so fast. Probably just pulled it of an old burger. Then the rest of my order came. ALSO COLD... I told the staff that my food is cold. They reheated my food in the microwave instead of making me fresh food. Which made the fries all soggy. And the burger on the inside was still cold. The taste wasn't bad though. I just can't believe I paid like $20 to eat cold food 😑

In 1983, I was stationed at Camp Schwab. I used to drive to this A & W quite often. One day I was extremely thirsty. At that time a large drink was actually quite small for me. So I told the waitress I wanted the largest drink they had. I used my hands to show her the size of the glass I wanted. A few minutes later, she returned with a huge bucket of root beer with a snap on lid. Hahahaha. I brought it back to my room and had root beer for the next 4 or 5 days. What a great memory.
