We have arrived on 03/11/2017 around 17:45 and the place was crowded, including waiting time. At the time when we got our ticket (nr. 351), it was displayed that the waiting time was 70 minutes. As you can see in the pictures, there sure was some waiting time. So we went around, checked nearby bicycle store. Around 18:15 we came back and the number was 300. We were seated around 18:30. Which was half of the estimated time. There are roughly 50/60 tables with few seats at the counter. Each table serves 3+3 or 2+2 people.
This is a 100Yen (+tax) sushi. Basically, the main and basic sushi are 100Yen (+tax) and come in two on a dish. So 50JPY for one piece. If you are new to Conveyor belt sushi (kaitenzushi), then plates which come on the belt are meant to be taken. If the plate is on top of a another "plate" or a bowl, it means it is someone's order and you do not touch it. There are different kinds of conveyor belt sushi. But basically, there are two which differ by price. They are either priced by the plate colour, or all have same price. In case it is priced by plate colour, the plates with the prices are displayed visibly. If not, then the prices are same - so in this case 100Yen. When you are finished and call the staff, they count the plates and you pay for the finished plates. Some conveyor belts have RFID technology, where you just put the used dishes under the conveyor belt and it counts them for you. In this case, the staff came and counted the dishes with special ruler to double check.
Each seat has touch display, where you can make special order - if you want freshly made, or more pricey stuff like squid or so. In this restaurant, the prices were from 100Yen to 300Yen for special orders. If you order big plate, it will be like 900Yen or so. But you get the idea. The touch screens are in 3 foreign languages and Japanese. I remember seeing Korean, Chinese and English. It also comes with pictures. The English fish/squid names may be different than correct translation from Japanese to English, but with pictures, you'll get the idea. You may also order beer, including non-alcohol beer, ice cream, fried tempura, ramen, various kinds of cheese cakes,.. Except for big plates (family plates) and drinks, it all comes on the belt. Before your order arrives, you will hear a sound and information on the touch screen that your order is comming. Usually 5 seconds since you hear the signal.
Maccha tea is for free - just take the cup, add maccha powder and use the hot water tap in front of you. As the food quality is considered, this is cheap sushi, kind of a fast food. Sure, it is fresh, no problem here. But the "display value" may not be as high as in special sushi restaurant, where the chef makes sushi for you and usually in front of you. But as said, considering the price, I do not see any issue here. The hygienic standards are really high in Japan, so you do not need to be worry. You can also see the staff in the kitchen preparing the food and to be honest, it is amazing to watch them do their work. You will really appreciate when you eat what they made.
At the end, we paid for about 23-25 dishes about 3300Yen. Some of them were special orders. In two people, we were really full. You cannot beat this price!
Just a note - this restaurant was moved and at the time of the writing, the restaurant is displayed on the wrong side of the road. After moving, it is located on the right side of the road (facing north, Kanayama), before it was on left side. But you will not miss it, just other side...

Moreover it's a very good deal for great sushis! You can find very different kind, seasonal ones, and many side dishes for those whom are not much into fish. And prices are really nice! It's rather big with a lot of people and quite noisy (a small music is playing on your tab when a dish is coming which means as lot of musics are playing all along ;) ). TVCM等の効果もあり、知名度、人気度共に高く、大衆向け回転寿司の先端をひた走っている印象があります。
先日、金山駅から歩いて10分程にある、スシロー熱田店に初めて行ってみました。
正午頃だったので、少し心配しましたが、すんなりカウンター席の左端席に座れました。 平日だったからか?右端のお客さん以外のカウンター席は がら空きで、荷物もあったので2席分使用で通してもらいました。
店員さんの対応良く、融通も効く感じ。
カウンター席は10席程ありましたが、椅子が隣とくっ付いてキチキチ状態で、あまりにくっ付き過ぎているので(カウンター席全部の椅子)、女性店員さんに椅子が多過ぎだと苦言した程です。 それほどの人気店と言うことなのかもしれませんが、満員御礼時の身動きとれないまま、食事するお客さんを想像すると(椅子が接触し過ぎてパーソナルスペースゼロ)、気の毒にも思い、もう少し椅子を減らして余裕を持たせるべきとも思います。(着席外席も困難)
テーブル席は混雑していて、さすが人気店だなと思いました。
創作寿司のバラエティー多く、特に炙り(あぶり)系の寿司や、チーズ系の寿司が多い気がします。 創作意欲を感じました。
今月の太鼓判の蒸し煮あんこう肝軍艦は、多分、蒸し煮した?あんこう肝を少し炙った感じで、確かにあんこう肝を美味しく、食べやすく工夫してありました。
オーダーパネルに、期間限定とか、今月のイチオシとか、今月の太鼓判とかあるのも、興味をそそられていいと思います。
はまち大好きの小生(私)は、はまちにぎりがないので、よく似た寒鰤(かんぶり)にぎりを食べましたが、どうしてハマチがないのでしょうか?
CM中の期間限定の蟹祭りネタ、紅ズワイてんこ盛りをオーダーしてみました(180¥程)。 紅ズワイ蟹が高級なのか、思ったより小さめ(?_?)でしたけど、美味しかったです。(小生は普段、好んで蟹は食べない)
全体的に、寿司シャリが若干(じゃっかん)少なく、その分いつもより沢山食べれました。 それがいいのかどうか?は人それぞれだろうけど、成長期の若者達はどう思っているのでしょう?
しかし、スシローの寿司が、どれも美味しいことは否めない。
わさびは勿論、七味唐辛子、マヨネーズなど数々の調味料が回転しているので、好きなのを選べて良い。
色々な回転寿司店に行きますが(小生は回転寿司大好き)、スシローの長所は創作寿司ネタの豊富さ(アイデア等)とチャレンジスピリッツにあると思いました。(どれも普通に美味しい)
又、巧みな戦略的TVCMの印象が強いのは否めないけど、やる気を感じるイメージ作りなどが、人気向上に繋がっていると思います。
店内は、モダンジャズらしきBGMが流れていて、お洒落な雰囲気でしたが、少しテンポ早目の曲なので、ちょっと落ち着かない感じもします。(回転寿司だけに回転効率良く…)
二階店舗であっても(一階駐輪、駐車場)、エレベーターがあるので身体障害者の方や大荷物での来客にも便利なのが良い。
