BAKUBAKU STEAK — Restaurant in Naha

We used to enjoy this place very much. The first two times we went the food was delicious. But then the 3rd time we went the food was disappointing. The steak is hooded properly, so we have no complaints about this. But, there were not vegetables served like in the past. The steak was served with a side of noodles and a couple sad looking onions and a carrot thrown in, which is nothing like we've had in the past. This is not something I can eat so it went to waste. Also, my husband always orders beer with his meal, and it is pictured that there is Budweiser and Heineken. We have always received this with the meal so there has never been any question. This time, the owner brought him a Coors Light but did not ask him if this was ok. Coors light is not shown on the menu anywhere and my husband does not like this beer. He would have asked for something different if he had known. Instead, he drank what he was given.

I do not think we will return unless we know that the meal returns to how it used to be. I am sad because we used to like this...

Despite not knowing japanese, the store owner managed to communicate with us in basic english. We got the 300g steak cubes and 150 or 200g (cant remember) steak. The steak was really good, the thinner parts are closer to medium well while the thick parts are medium. Very tender and juicy. Especially if u put it in the brown sauce or the spiced salt. The steak cubes is more reminiscent of the ones you might find at a streetside grill, its good too but more ordinary. Only thing is that the store is really quite hard to find and u can use the picture below and another guy who posted before...

初代店主のKさんが復帰予定でしたが、見合せとなり、二代目のYさんから引き継ぎ、三代目としてSさんがお店を守っております。 Sさんはステーキ業界の経験豊富な方で接客もとても丁寧で、お店全体が柔らかな雰囲気になりました。 メニューの見せ方など、とても気を遣われているのが良くわかります。 たまたまかも知れませんが、お肉は少し固くなったかもという印象なので、この先の仕込み慣れに期待したい所です。

2024.7 お店が再開しております。 先代の大将はお店に立っておりませんが、代わりに別の方Yさんがお店を守っています。肉の品質については先代の大将がきちんと仕込みをしているので、心配不要です。

2024.6 現在「臨時休業」との表示になっておりますが、閉店した訳ではありません。 店主さんの個人的な都合により、しばらくお休みする事になっており、また復活する予定でいるとの事でした。 オープンが楽しみです。
