Maverick — Restaurant in Naha

I saw all of the great reviews, so I decided to check it out. The place is really comfy inside with cool decor. The staff are cute and accommodating. The menu looked awesome. Prices are about the same as other burger joints on island. I really wanted this place to be good. I ordered the avocado bacon cheese burger with onion rings and a ginger ale. The lady brought my drink and it was a lot bigger than other places, which I liked. Then the food came and I tried one of my onion rings and thought it tasted very salty. I didn’t mention it to my buddy that was with me and he said that the chili in his chili burger had ALOT of salt. I tried my burger and mine wasn’t salty. My buddy told them that his burger was way too salty, as if somebody was adding salt and the top came off kind of salty. So they made him another chili burger, but I’m sure the chili was made in a batch and would be almost impossible to take the salt out. He couldn’t finish the burger. I ate my salty onion rings and then my burger. The burger was chewy as if it wasn’t ground well, I also had chewy pieces of cartilage or something. Maybe it was an off day for them. Quite simply, this is the best burger we have ever had- it was fresh, made of high quality ingredients and absolutely delicious. It tasted like every single ingredient had been considered and hand picked.

Everything was perfect- the interior of the restaurant was super cool, the food was the best meal we had on our month long trip of Japan (and we do not use this phrase lightly- having enjoyed the amazing local dishes that Japan has to offer) and the guys running it were super interesting and nice. The homemade lemonade we ordered as part of the set was just as amazing as the food and the bar was very well stocked. We didn’t have any cocktails or other drinks, but would bet my gran these would be knock out too.

I ordered the Mac and cheese burger. The Mac and cheese was okay, I think it could have been cheesier though, but the size of the burger was massive. If you want a really massive burger with massive sides, this is the place to go.

The onion rings were seriously so good. It seemed like it was tempura fried, and they were so crunchy, salty, and perfect. I’d go back again for those onion rings. The French fries were also great too. I believe they’re frozen, but they’re dangerously good. Wasn’t super impressed with my patty though. It had several hard parts that I had to take out while chewing.

It would also be nice to include that there’s mayonnaise on the burger as well, since it’s an ingredient that not everybody likes.
