Today, I was at this (I assumed) family-run Soba noodle restaurant in Furano for lunch - after visiting the nearby, highly popular Farm Tomita that's famous for its fields of blooming lavender flowers. After waiting for my turn to be seated in the restaurant due to a 30min queue to get in, I was given a nice seat by the window, and I promptly ordered a "Chilled Tanuki" soba as described in the English version of the restaurant's menu - by the way, the Japanese lady who took my order was fluent enough in English and that helped me a lot, as a foreign tourist as she was patient and courteous. And how was my order of "Chilled Tanuki" soba? Well, it was very refreshingly delicious and "healthy-ish" in my opinion - as it comprised "simply" of cold soba topped with seaweed, mustard spinach and tempura batter bits with a moreish sauce that I poured in the mix subsequently.
