Hoshinoki no ramen hontoni SAIKO desu!
Hoshinoki has some really amazing items such as the "burnt" shoyu ramen, or their black sesame ramen. The soup bases are rich, comforting and the flavours really come out strong and unique. Its something that can only be developed by a skillful chef with time and effort to produce such levels of soup bases. My only sadness is that this place is not well known to many people, and not located in big cities like Tokyo where more people can get a taste of his kami-sama level of cullinary craftsmanship.
Hoshinoki is run by a single grandpa and each bowl is made from scratch so do expect a bit of a wait for each serving but trust me, its really worth the wait.

My set came with fried rice, and surprisingly it was good! But I can't finish it all, the portions are too much for me. Read moreLovely place. He opened at 6pm for dinner when we visited. Ordered the Set B (ramen + tamago don) and the burnt soya sauce ramen. Excellent flavour and noodles were QQ; burnt soya sauce broth was unique so I'd recommend that one. Also ordered his homemade gyoza which was really yummy too!
The restaurant is run by one man, who seems to be very hardworking. So just gotta be patient with the service.
