Food was good, but the owner(?) seems to be a dishonest man who scammed us. Note that the whole restaurant was manned by a single person (cashier, chef and server) whom I am assuming is the owner, and that there was only 1 private room occupied in the restaurant.
I, my sister and my father (3 pax) walked-in for dinner. We had no expensive seafood or beef dishes (just simple yakitori, cucumber salad, and 3 glasses of umeishu), we were charged 8000 yen. He handed us a small scrap of paper that simply had “8000” scribbled on it. Based off the menu prices. we should have only been charged ~4500 yen.
When we asked for a detailed breakdown of the bill, he insisted that the register had calculated the amount, and offered no itemised receipt.
We were in a rush so we paid and left. The experience has left a sour note to our trip to Japan.
Hence, I would not recommend coming here, especially as a tourist.
