Cafe Yabusachi — Restaurant in Nanjo

Let me first of all say that the cakes are absolutely delicious! Definitely the highlight of our visit.

The view is the second highlight. The cafe has an unobstructed panorama on the beach and water. It's breathtaking.

Now for the lesser parts of our visit. First off, when we arrived, we were told to pick any table we liked. We sat there for a few minutes kind of confused, waiting for a menu, debating if we had to order at the counter. I eventually walked up to the front where I was ignored for a whole minute before I said "excuse me can I have a menu" and only then was given one.

The weird part about the menu is that before 14:30, they have a limited mains menu. Only steak, grilled chicken, omurice, chicken curry and maybe 2 other things. Only after 14:30 can you apparently order from the full menu that includes the pizza and pasta. Kind of weird and disappointing..

We picked the steak and chicken plates. It took quite a long time for them to come out of the kitchen considering the only thing that needed to be cooked on the spot was the meat. Presentation-wise, the dishes looked great. Sadly, my steak had already mostly gone cold. For 3000 yen, it was also a pretty small amount.

We decided to order cake for dessert to try and make up for our experience so far, and I'm glad we did. Their cakes tasted delicious! On another note: our plates never even got cleared and no one checked in with us the entire time we were there. I had to go back to the counter to get the server's attention to order desserts.

I would want to come back here to try their pasta or pizza and I hope that when I do, the service might also be better. It seemed like they were understaffed even though there were only 4 tables while we were there. Lack of customer-orientation and clearing of tables was apparent to everyone there. We had our first meal in Okinawa here. As it was very sunny and hot to be seated outdoors, we opted for indoor seating. Despite that, the view was fantastic.
