We absolutely loved our lunch here. It was such a nice break from the crowds of tourists. Since somen is one of the dishes Nara is known for, we really wanted to try it here. There are only four main course choices on this menu but everything is made with a lot of care - we had the hot and cold somen along with the house special and all were so good! we had a group of 7 and everyone agreed that this was one of our better meals in Japan (a tough feat since most were great!). We showed up at 2pm so she was able to accommodate us right away. We would go again if we were back in Nara!

I am very lucky to stumble across this humble and cosy restaurant near Nara Park. There were only 4 tables in the restaurant and we managed to get the last table as we came here. The dishes took about 15 minutes to arrive but service was prompt and the waitress was very friendly and welcoming. The food was umami and light and quite affordable as well. The matcha ad rich with a strong floral and earthy taste. Would recommend 10/10.
