Disclaimer: I'm a big bread eater.
This is the best bakery in Tochigi I've tried so far.
It's not quite French, but the style is as close as it can get. Their donuts and pastry aren't the selling point - croissants and pains au chocolat aren't bad but they're really pricey for what they are.
Their sandwiches are made with the delicious cheese from 那須の森, the best French style cheese producer in Tochigi, hands down.

The taste, structure and crunch is perfect. I bought so many bread and pastries to eat there and bring home.
The bakery is next to the cafe under the same owner. Buy the bread and have coffee next door.
The coffee also great, it was really good coffee. I haven't tasted coffee this good at any cafe in Japan, as an Indonesian, I know what good coffee is and this is top tier beans.

You can buy and bring them to the cafe next door and order drink. They have decaf too! and purin, cheesecake which looks delicious.
The service was good too, despite coming with a big bunch of 14 people, they catered to all of us well. On a good weather, sitting outside is also nice. Will miss their donut, jamon baguette and cream...
