Pizzeria Pico — Restaurant in Nasushiobara

I'll agree with the other comments saying the pizza dough felt a bit wet. I eat A LOT of pizzas (and pasta too).

The toppings were great, including the sauce but the dough was really a letdown. It's so close to being delicious but the dough tastes of water. Considering it's owned by the same people as the great KANEL BREAD, it was quite a letdown.

Wagyu pasta was great but the quantity was lacking... but really good otherwise.

I wish I could have a look at their wine too, but since I drive...

Honestly, probably too pricey for what it was. There are (much) cheaper Italian restaurants in Tochigi that'll deliver a superior food experience.

Service can be improved, probably. Great location, really good atmosphere, the decoration as well, music... is about tastes. I didn't quite understand "We will rock you" in a lunch playlist but hey, at least it's Queen. Followed by Bob Marley (?).

Note: parking next to the library, in front of York Benimaru. Plenty of parking, 50円 an hour, the first hour is free.

I may or may not come again, but it's definitely not on my my priority list.

I had lunch here today and the food was very good. I had a Shiitake pizza with spicy oil, and a Shirasu and pepperanchino spaghetti with Mizuno and cabbage. Both were very good. The service was fast and friendly and the outdoor seating was cozy next to the garden. I never entered the building so I can't comment on that. There is an uneven stone pathway from the street and a tall step to enter the restaurant so access could be a challenge. There is a restroom inside. パスタもサイドメニューも、お酒のラインナップも非常に良し！スタッフさんも程よい距離感でスマートなサービスをしてくれます。

ピッツェリアというかイタリアンというかタベルナというか、ワイワイ賑やかで気軽に楽しめるお店。

賑やかで元気をもらえる店内でも良いし、天気の良い日は開放感が最高な外テラス席で話が弾みそうです。1人でも家族でも友人とでも、観光でも日常でも色んなシーンに合うお店。

ピザはテイクアウトも出来るので、自宅でも良いし隣の図書館前の芝生広場で頂くのも良いですね。

値段のみを見れば安くは有りませんが、「シンプル＆カジュアルだけど、丁寧で素晴らしく美味しい料理とお酒を、良い雰囲気の中で頂ける」コンセプトで、トータルの満足度からしたらお得だと思います。

スタッフさんの人数も多めなので、急いで食べたい時はそれに合わせたサーブをしてくれるのもありがたいです。

嬉しい嬉しい夜営業も有り、子供フレンドリーで小さい子供が居ても入りやすい。まさに黒磯駅前に欲しかったお店！自身も料理好きとしては、オープンキッチンなのでカウンターに座って作るのを見てるのも楽しいです笑。

これで、カネルブレッドにイリスコーヒー、図書館も出来て仕上げにピッツェリアと完全に駅前が揃ったと思います。夜の黒磯駅前がこれまではちょっと寂しかったのですけど、夜も明るく楽しそうな音楽と声が聞こえてくる、そんな空間が出来たのはとても嬉しいです。仕事帰りとかについつい引き寄せられてしまいそう。。。

肝心のピザは生地が非常に美味しいです。表面はパリッと中はフンワリ、香ばしさと小麦の豊かな香りと甘味がたまりません。フレッシュなトマトソースにバジルの香り、そこに那須で作られたモッツァレラのクリーミーさが合わさる森のマルゲリータは極上の美味しさ。

トマトにニンニクにオレガノのガッツリ系のマリナーラはワインとも良く合いそう。生ハムに爽やかクリーミーなマスカルポーネを合わせたのも絶品。

ピザも良いけどパスタも最高。乾麺のスパゲティに手打ちのオレキエッテやタリオリーニなどに、旬の食材が合わさり抜群のソースで頂けます。元々パスタ好きとしてはピザ以上にパスタが良し。

前菜も充実しています。ハーブの鮮烈な香りが最高なカルパッチョ、野菜の旨味のカポナータ、旬の野菜にトリッパの煮込みまで。その時々の食材で変わるライブ感の有る他メニューもどれも非常に美味しいです。

オーナーさんがソムリエなことも有りボトルワインの品揃えはなかなかのもの。最近注目されているオレンジワインまで有るのもさすがです。グラスもかなりの充実ぶりです。他のお酒も面白いのが揃っており遅い時間にバーとして楽しむのも楽しそうです。
