Sunrise — Restaurant in Nasushiobara

Wow Nasu doesn’t seem to stop impressing us! We visited Sunrise after a tiring day under the scorching sun and crazy intermittent heavy rains haggling around to Monkey park and Keiryu park. We were pleasantly greeted and engaged by the owner Mr. Jasveer Bist(spelling might not be accurate). He took our requests of vegetarian spicy food and got us instantly started with soup and salad which was so so good that we enjoyed every drop of the soup. Next we got the nomimono or drinks all fresh out of the freezer and were nothing less… Then the main course we had was veg biryani, jeera rice, dal tadka, palak paneer or horenso cheese, samosa, palak naan or horenso/spinach nan, mango lassi, regular lassi and hot chai/tea, non-alcoholic asahi high-ball. The toilets were also very clean and one thing I liked the most was the standalone toilet for mens urinal which is such a common sense thing but not many folks do it due to space and multiple other reasons but they did it here and full marks for that. The jeera rice and dal combination was the best I’ve had in my entire history of travelling across Japan since last 2 years visiting maybe 100~150 Indian restaurants. All spectacular and delicious food, ample and accessible parking with a memorable hospitality by Jasveer san - Arigatou...

日曜日、2人で12:30頃来店しました。 4-6人掛のテーブルが6席ほどありましたが、すでに8割ほど埋まっていました。

■内装・接客

以前から気になっていたお店。 インド・ネパール料理店あるあるですが、店構と情報のなさにちょっと不安でした。

しかし、来店してイメージが一掃されました！

まず、外からは見にくい店内の内装は、白を基調としたウッド調で、店内も明るく、清掃も行き届いており、清潔感が花丸です💯！

ホール担当のスタッフさんも外国の方ですが、日本語もお上手で、とても丁寧に対応してくださいます。 個人的に嬉しかったのが「冷房の風が直接当たる席ですが、寒くないですか？」とお気遣いいただいたことです。

■メニュー・提供時間

メニューも豊富で、ランチタイムは「ナンのおかわりが無料」！ランチセットの種類によって選べるナンの種類も変わりますが、「チーズナン」等プレーン以外のナンもおかわり無料なのは驚きです。

レビューで「タンドリーチキンがおいしい」と見たので、「Aランチ」「タンドリーランチ」を注文。ナンはプレーンとチーズ。

初めにサラダとチキンスープが到着しました。スープがよくある「美味しくも不味くもないコンソメスープ」かと思いましたが、パプリカの風味が効いた一手間かかったスープでとてもおいしかったです。

その次にタンドリーチキンが到着。 なんとジュージュー音を立てて、鉄板で登場。しかもビッグサイズ。味も少し和風で食べやすく、何より味が柔らかくおいしいです。

混雑していることもあり、ナンとカレーが届くまでには15分ほどでした。

ナンの大きさにビックリです。。 思わず声がでました。A3用紙サイズほどありました。チーズナンは2-3人前用のピザくらいあります。ふっくらして、ほんのり甘くとてもおいしいです。

(ただ、個人的にチーズナンを2人とも頼まなくて正解だと感じました。量のこともあり、後々しんどくなってきます。)

カレーは「チキンカレー」をオーダー。 スパイスが効いていて、レモングラスがスッと香り、鶏肉はホロホロでとてもおいしかったです。

辛さは「1-5」で選べましたが、今回は「3」をオーダー。バーモントカレーの辛口程度でした。

ドリンクも選べて、ラッシーを注文。さっぱりと甘く、口直しに最高です。(結構濃いめのカルピス程甘いので、甘さが苦手な方はちょっと厳しいかも)

■客層

お年寄りや、小学生連れのお母さんたちも結構いらっしゃったり、まさに老若男女集うお店でした！
