すし処 大仙 — Restaurant in Niigata

I have visited this sushi restaurant with my parents. We were originally from this place Niigata and the owner chef is my high school friend. Eliminating the factor he is my friend, and providing a fair feedback.

The restaurant itself was a cross-linked retro and contemporary. Very clean, modern high-grade restaurant. You can see Japanese beast "kappa" everywhere even in the garden and toilet. They were very cute.

Sushi itself. As I was from local Niigata, I sincerely appreciated them serving us local fish such as "soi (black rockfish)" etc. were absolutely fantastic. I ate soi last time 40 years ago. So it was absolutely a great moment. Other than soi, we ate "nodoguro (rosy seabass)". Of course they served tuna, king fish and all other major fish and sea urchin etc.

If you are after the "authentic Japanese nigiri sushi" then this is the place to visit. The location is handy such as close to the highway interchange. Also surrounding area has a large shopping centre (Apita), local market/exhibition centre "Furusato Mura (home village)" so you can enjoy your time around that area.

Very friendly staff who spoke no English. However, the sushi has too much rice ... hence the ordinary rating. Pricey compared to a better sushi joint we ate...

出張の途中で、新潟市のディアモンテホテル新潟西に宿泊した際、徒歩で訪問致しました。 お店の入口は高級割烹を思わせる重厚な造りですが、勇気を振り絞り入店するとご主人の元気な挨拶で迎えられ、気難しさの欠片もないアットホームなお寿司屋さんである事がわかります。 おかみさんもケラケラと明るい方で、非常に居心地の良いお店です。私は３時間以上も滞在してしまいました。

基本的なメニュー品は全て価格が明記され、財布の恐怖と戦う必要はありません。 どなたでも予算に応じてお寿司を楽しむ事ができます。

お寿司もつまみも全てがハイレベルで、味にうるさい方でも満足できると思います。 私にとっては、ご主人おすすめの地の物に初めての食材が多く、勉強になると同時にとても美味しく頂けました。
