Kadoma — Restaurant in Nikko

Fantastic! Nikko area is not known for Chinese food, Only one out of three Chinese restaurants in the whole area. This one is supper yummy! I think he dialed the heat back on his dishes because the local population doesn’t eat Chinese food. The local population is missing out on a highly skilled chef. Spoke for a bit with the owner/chef/waiter. He originally worked in China, then Tokyo and then moved to Tochigi because he missed his homeland. So he bought a house and turned the main floor into his restaurant. He seemed to operate the place all by himself. We had fried chicken in black vinegar sauce, boiled potatoes stickers, and garlic chives with egg and cloud mushrooms. He suggested these three dishes because he just made the dumpling that day, the garlic chives were fresh bought, and the chicken came in that day. All three dishes were amazing! We should not encourage google reviews to customer by giving them free dessert. This is nothing but paid reviews. We went to the store by looking at the reviews and got mislead. All the food like gyoza, dimsum and xaio long bao felt like they are prepared onsite but are frozen store ones. It seemed they just micro-oven and saute and give the food. If you are in the region, visit this place! Amazing food, very fair price and the service is great.

It feels like a living room, where you take your shoes off before entering. There are a few set menus and several individual dishes to order from.

We were in a bigger group and ordered several different plates to try, and everything was amazing - you can't go wrong.
