Satoyama Café — Restaurant in Nomi

Usually, baked goods like pancakes or waffles include salt in their ingredients. Not enough to make them taste salty, but just 1/4 teaspoon or so in order to enhance the flavor of the other ingredients. While the pancakes here looked beautiful, they were completely bland (I ordered the raspberry pancakes). The raspberry syrup was pleasant, but it’s flavor was also very light. That would have been fine normally, but combined with the flavorless pancakes, it made for a very disappointing meal.

In spite of being first in the restaurant in the morning, although perhaps the second to order, it also took 30 minutes to get my food! I was late for my next appointment. If it is going to take so long, I wish they’d let customers know in advance. I would have cancelled my order if I had known. I had to rush to finish my food as fast as possible when it arrived.

自然を感じながらお昼を食べたいなと思い、立ち寄りました。少し高台にあるお店で、駐車場はお店の前に３台分、坂の下に12台分くらい。下に停めて1〜2分ほど歩いて向かいました。ロケーションが良く、眼下の田園風景に癒やされます。 この日は、焼きチーズカレーのオムライスとベイクドチーズケーキセットをいただきました。 オムライスは、ふわとろタイプ、薄い卵焼きで巻くタイプ、いずれでもなく、第３のタイプ、やや厚みのある（どちらかといえばスパニッシュオムレツ寄りな？）卵焼きがライスの上に乗ったタイプ。ご飯はベーコンや玉ねぎで炒めたどこか懐かしい味がして、卵焼きとお店オリジナルカレーとのマッチングが最高でした。結構、ボリュームあります。 ベイクドチーズケーキは、控えめな甘さに添えてあるクリーム、少し酸味のあるベリーソースがよく合います。 お店の方も礼儀正しく親切で対応がよく、いい雰囲気でした。 平日14時過ぎの訪問でしたが、お客様も多く、その人気もうなづけました。靴を脱いでお店に入るので、その点でもくつろげました。次回はナポリタンと日替わりケーキを注文したい...
