Parking: It has at least 5 floors of parking available and the owner can validate one hour. It has an elevator.
Ambiance: The restaurant is colorful and gives party vibes from outside. However, During the day those colors let the sunlight in without burning you and makes it more magical with the colors it creates inside. It is so clean. They have a dj booth for special events. The bathroom is spacious and clean. There bowls of welcome candy everywhere.
Food: I cannot get enough of the fish tacos. We love the baliadas here. As you can see from the picture my son at age ten didn't even care about the onions or other toppings because the flavors got him. Read it again- they got a 10 yr old enjoying onions. I've tried the Horchata, Jamaica, and the JalepeƱo margarita and each were a hit. I posted the full menu because it's what I like to see in a review but completely unnecessary because I can guarantee all of it is quality and delicious.
Price: The price was right. You get more than what you pay for in quantity and quality.
Service: Service is by ticket. They are pretty fast. All the sauces and add ons are available at the pick up counter. Which I love especially out here. It is a family run business and he makes it his business to keep it safe for them and us. EMI, the wife and owner oversees all aspects and elevates every part of your experience. They had a promotion and my son won a gift card.
Supports community: This chain serves its local mixed community across the island, no matter the demographic. They are flexible and change to fit the needs. They keep latino culture alive here and support our roots and invite others to learn, join and close gaps of communication and culture. Latinos/Hispanics have a lot in common with Okinawans regarding prioritizing family and it shows here. He bring Mariachi sometimes. He brings salsa teachers sometimes. He is hosting a Catrina parade for Dia de los Muertos. Do you want more? They are currently opening the venue to the Okinawa PokƩmon League for play on Sundays for the sake of community.
You still want more? Just watch. I have been a customer since 2022. I have watched them grow from one location to three in that time and make community improvements at each location. The menu has nor changed alot because why would you change perfection? And yet they are open minded to do it. They experiment all the time and invite you the customer to let them know if you love it.
If you follow my reviews, you know I am honest to a fault. I don't think you have seen praise or detail from me like this before. Do yourself a favor and try it once. You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've visited many taco spots in Okinawa, and I try to stay unbiased, but once you taste Chingones, you truly feel like you're in taco heaven. The beans are out of this world, and the tacos themselves are simply unbeatable. The atmosphere adds to the experience, but the highlight for me was the birra tacos, perfectly simmered to bring out the authentic flavors of Mexico, which I've visited multiple times. Taking a bite here transports you to a different continent where tacos originated.
Right now, Iād rank Chingones as the top place Iāve visited for tacos. I still have a few more spots to check out in Okinawa, but for now, this place is number one on my list. Once I explore more places in mainland Japan, Iāll see how Chingones stacks up against the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHands down, some of the best birria tacos Iāve had. The consommĆ© at the end? Perfect finish with a little spice . I donāt usually drink horchata, but theirs changed my mind and keep me wanting more. Ask for a splash of coconut in it, trust me.
We also had the birria quesadilla and carne asada fries, both hit the spot.
What really stood out, though, was meeting Ken. You can feel the pride and passion he puts into his food, but even more into the space heās created. This place isnāt just about serving great meals, itās about building strong community. Whether itās your first time or your tenth, you feel like family here. Places like this remind you how food can bring...
