Mesilla Kitchen — Restaurant in Okinawa

Stumbled upon this place while out running errands and decided to dine in for a quick bite. I have heard of this restaurant from close friends who have eaten here recently!

It gives SOCAL! Imagine my excitement🥳 for someone who has lived in SoCal before relocating here in 2018! I’ve had to learn to make it myself at home! Humble flex!🤓

Let’s start with atmosphere, parking was limited. I walk in and I am greeted by a familiar face from a classmate/friend of my daughters’. There was a decent size party size already seated when I was seated.

You smell the aroma from the different carne’s sizzling, the smokiness from the flat grill/stove. All wonderful scents!

Would be nice to come here for tacos and margs with friends during dinner time!

Service is amazing and pretty quick even with the large party before me. You wrote on a paper what your orders are hit the 💡 button and they will retrieve your order!

I ordered 3 items. Taco Plate (taco choice was 2 carne asadas) for me on site anf 2 California burrito’s to go! These plates come with rice and beans! Yum!

They have containers to contain sauces you wish to pack with you!

Delicioso! I almost almoooost finished my food! The meat was tender, fatty and nicely flavored. Not salty at all!

SALSA’S! Made in house! Always a tell tell sign!!! 2 sauces available at each table is red and orange! The orange hot sauce was spicy, but the perfect spice for me! The red sauce isn’t spicy at all to my recollection!

Greetings Googlers, sometimes you have a craving and you need to scratch it well this place helped since enchiladas, tacos, and burritos were the craving. First things first, the food came out quick and barely warm even though that happened the food was well seasoned and delicious. The chicken enchilada really satisfied the craving I had. The tacos were packed and could have used another shell to keep the one from falling apart but well seasoned and delicious. For the modelo fans out there they do carry them but a bit pricey (800yen per) but went well with the food. The price for the burrito plate is worth getting it because the burritos are big. My adventure partner couldn’t finish it but was glad because she wanted to enjoy at home. The kiddos loved their plate but wished they had something they could have made tacos with. The place is small so if you want to dine in then know that groups larger than (4) will have to seat separately and they only have seating for (3) groups of 4 with a couple (2) seaters around. NEEDs Salsa Verde. Simply having their own green sauce would be a game-changer. Seriously it would make a huge difference.

That being said, their Agua fresca and Horchata are perfect. Seriously refreshing and delicious, always incredible. Even the water is quite nice.

The rest of the food is pretty great too—i haven’t had EVERYthing on the menu but tasting all the meat bases, you can make positive assumptions on each dish. The serving sizes are right where they should be, so even me being a big guy I leave full every time.

I will say though, the chicken leaves a bit to be desired; its not as salty and seasoned like you’d want your typical mexican pollo tacos to be. Typically a good green salsa will fix mid chicken, but again—no green salsa here.

The vibes are on-point, and music and staff are awesome. Staff seem proud to work there and are very friendly and available.

Overall great as-is, but seriously i would be in their doors at least weekly if they had a solid salsa verde and slightly better seasoned...
