Yasai Batake- Banana Stand — Local services in Okinawa

Great produce in Okinawa, near Kadena. It's not very big but has a good variety of produce. The prices are great and the produce is fairly good. You will find some blemishes but I'd say 3.5 out of 5 stars for the quality of the fruits and veggies. Their best items would be bananas and pineapples I would say. The parking is a bit difficult to get in and out when it's busy but parking is right in front of the stores so who can complain.

I think they are distributors for one of the regular groceries stores so would sell that blemished veggies here and save the good ones...

We shop at Banana Stand frequently. ¥ yen only! We love supporting local farmers and markets. Staff is always friendly and inviting. Go as early as possible if you can. It can get busy so the small parking lot gets kinda crazy at certain times of the day. I get a bunch of bananas for ¥400, cucumbers, apples, avocados, lemons, limes, large sweet watermelons (in season), green and/ or purple lettuce, carrots, large bag of onions...cilantro, scallions, leeks, pumpkin (in season), tomatoes, peppers, berries, persimmons! (In season), and many more produce available...

Small but well stocked fruit and vegetable store. It's nothing fancy and parking can get tough when it's busy, but everything is fresh and CHEAP. I learned about this place from some Japanese friends who shop here regularly but lately it's full of Americans so I guess the secret is out.
