One of the best aspects of Japanese Cuisine is finding local restaurants that prepare simple high quality ingredients in exceptionally excellent ways, and Tontan delivers as anticipated!
Their specialty is focusing on pork dishes, but primarily Butadon / Pork Bowls. Their pork is high quality and is served either from the Pork Belly or the Pork Shoulder. The meat is charcoal grilled and very tender and juicy. Their sauce is exceptionally delicious—thick, sweet, with a hint of tanginess behind it! Extra sauce is provided at each table, and is delicious to add to the rice or slather more on the pork if that’s your style! It’s excellently sauced and proportioned as is. You can get different sizes of rice and meat to match your appetite—I find 200g to be plenty for a great lunch.
The staff are incredibly friendly and polite, and are welcoming to all! The atmosphere is cozy and their music choice is superb!

I experience was based solely on their pork bowl. I did not try their yakiniku while...

You come during a less busy time, 15~20 minutes and you’ll...
