Onomichi Wharf — Restaurant in Onomichi

Not bad place - great water views + fun vibe in central location, but nothing on menu for vegans or vegetarians.

Staff made us a lunch without meat and fish in the end but took quite a bit of back and forth negotiations.

Even when asked for no plastic straws, it still came in drinks, so staff training could be a little better, but to be fair this is not part of local consciousness yet. Also single-use chopsticks, but all else reusable.

私の人生の中で、史上最悪の経験をしたレストラン。せっかくの尾道旅行で、最悪の思い出を作りたくなかったら、ここは絶対に避けるべき。

駅チカで近くに競合もいないため、宣伝しなくても観光客でいつも混んでる。そのため、接客がかなり悪い。上から目線。

私と全く同じ経験をした他の客の書き込みがあったから、それを読むべきだった。。。！(I should have really read through the reviews with low ratings. I went through the same exact situations with these people! Can you tell how mad I am, and for my family too)

私も家族の誕生日に訪れた。外見が素敵だったから。が、レストランに入ってもなんと、目が合っても挨拶なし。入り口付近にいたスタッフの女性と男性が、何か手元に書き込んでいたので、「名前を書く準備をしてくれている？　二人もいるし、どちらが接客してくれるだろう」と少し待っても、全く接客する気配無し。

やっと私達から、「座ってもいいですか？」と聞いた時も、うなずかれただけ。「忙しいから察してよ」的な目線で見られただけで、仕方なく自分たちで席を探したものの、唯一空いていた席が、誰の目の届かない一番奥の席。。。。

注文も取りに来ないので、自分たちで動いてバーまで行って注文。なんと４５分近く待っても食事が来ないので、またバーまで聞きに行ったら、注文さえ通ってない。。。注文したウエイトレスは、びっくりしたような、注文さえも覚えてない様子で、「はあ。。。？」と。もちろん謝罪の言葉もなし。さらに、バーにいたスタッフも誰も謝罪の言葉なし。これから作るのか、どれくらいかかるのか、の対応もなく、「はあ。。。」。

その間も他の客の食事配膳優先で、怒りを通り越して、驚愕。結局、そのまま出ました。

一体私達が何を？キャパオーバーで接客できないのなら、入り口でそう案内すべき。家族の誕生日を曰く貴重な時間を無駄にする必要もなかったはず。社員教育とかされてない経営の質の悪さを痛感。せっかくの旅行、誕生日だったのに、ここには潰れてほしいくらい、今思い出しても本当に嫌な思い出。
