ハッシンダイナー — Restaurant in Otsu

Overall a good diner on Lake Biwa. The food is reasonably priced. I had the 350g steak for ¥1980+tax and the bread/soup set for an additional ¥350. It was a good medium/medium-rare steak. Beer was a bit expensive in my opinion but the Tornado technology cup was a novel idea (I prefer my beer with little to no head but 🤷‍♂️).

My wife had the Yukke Roast Beef Donburi (¥900+tax). Well worth the price!!!

We sat on the Terrace. Which was nice, I think they also have seating on the 2nd floor.

No English menu (although a smattering of misspelled English words e.g. Alchol), also no English speaking staff, but that doesn’t bother me to be honest. Something to be aware of though if that is important to you.

Cute place. But do NOT buy their steak. It was very hard and chewy (硬い). They gave me chopsticks to eat it with. So I asked for a fork and knife. They gave me a fork and and a butter knife.

Very disappointed. If I had a steak knife I could have maybe eaten it. But it was incredibly chewy. Avoid it.
