Visited by car, with car-parking area just outside the restaurant. English menu is available. They offer countertop seatings or in private booths. Unagi was grilled to crispy, very umami. I opted for the set where you can also soak the unagi and rice with tea broth, adding layers of flavors and texture when compared to just simple unagi rice.

Me and my husband went to eat here in october of 2023 and we ordered the “hitsumabushi” and it was the best eel we’ve ever had. it was crispy and packed with flavour. the rice underneath it was deliciously coated with the amazing sauce. we’ll definitely eat here again if were in town. 5/5

Decent unagi shop on the west side of Otsu. Eels are grilled after your order is placed. Their tare (unagi sauce) is on the light side. Slightly sweeter and less salty. Unagi is cooked well done and rather crispy on the skin side. Fair portion of rice for the hitsumabushi set.

We had arrived late to the hotel and needed dinner. Found this place nearby and had some of the best eel/unagi dinners. We had our own little dining space and used the call button when ready to order.
