Yaotora — Restaurant in Otsu

We chanced upon this place which was a 5 min walk from our hotel and were glad that we ate there. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. An English menu is available by scanning the QR code on the hardcopy menu.

The staff could not speak English very well but through pics and common food items like tonkatsu and sashimi, we were able to order the food. The omi beef skewers melted in our mouths. The omi beef sukiyaki was also fantastic! The nabeyaki udon came with a rather plump prawn and tonkatsu was fried well.

The staff were also very friendly and food was served quickly! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and delicious...

Food was excellent here. Atmosphere is very vintage Japanese. No one speak any English except the owner, which spoke very little. We lost something when we left and came back to look for it.
