🍜 辛味噌つけ麺 / kara miso tsukemen 🇯🇵 札幌つけ麺 風來堂 / sapporo tsukemen furaido / gakuenmae, hokkaido 🗓️ 07/19/2024
(@wei.oframen on ig for my ramen adventure 😚)
This was the only tsukemen I could get my hands on during this visit. The other spot I had in mind was Takahashi, but they were on break. I'm usually a bit reluctant with spicy miso. I blame it on California's subpar ramen offerings. Of course, as a tsukemen enjoyer, it was satisfying to find great tsukemen in Sapporo. This bowl was simply so enjoyable. The noodles were chewy and perfectly cooked. The miso broth was incredibly impactful while the spicy paste added just the right amount of heat to bring the overall experience up a notch. They didn't provide soup wari separately, but directly to the noodles bowl from the beginning. I don't exactly like this approach as it quickly thinned out the dipping soup because the noodles always carried a bit of it over. In addition, both the dipping soup and soup wari already cooled down by the time you finish. I still prefer a hot soup wari as it not only dilutes the high salinity dipping soup but also...
Read moreWent here with my friend at 5:30 today when they opened, and it was already busy! But we were able to sit at the counter. They gave us aprons too, which was much appreciated. The food was really good, and filling! Especially for 1000 yen. I got the shoyu-tsukemen (warm). My friend got the limited edition spicy soba, which had a good kick to it The washroom is also surprisingly spacious, and the sink has a pretty design lol. The counter chairs doubled as storage for your bags, and it was very clean. There's a server named Aoto who's also very nice, and he can speak some English 🙂 we had a nice chat. There's a TV playing anime and they have Conan manga. There's also after-meal candy available lol
This is my favourite tsukemen restaurant - please...
Read moreArrived here at night after a trip in Noboribetsu. Unfortunately, side fried rice already sold out, it’s sad how this place served limited portions of it.
Shoyu tsukemen looks simple but the flavor was complex and deep. Counter seat always a good choice since I get to see head chef stir-fry onions and beansprouts in a wok with intense fire. I can taste delicious charred flavor from those vegetables. Noodles are satisfyingly chewy as expected for tsukemen. After finished with noodles, you can diluted thick tsukemen broth with clear dashi soup so the broth became lighter then you can easily sip through last drop.
Staffs are energetic and proper like most ramen shops. But I’m still bummed about not being able to eat...
